Error 4C on a Samsung washing machine means that there are difficulties with water intake. For some reason, during the allotted time, the washing machine could not fill in enough water for washing, or water does not flow at all.

When the 4C error can be corrected on your own

Found error 4 C on the display? No need to panic and immediately call the master. Try to figure out the situation yourself first. In some cases, the problem is solved in a couple of minutes.

• There is no water in the water supply or the pressure is too weak. Turn on the faucet in the bathroom or kitchen and see if there is water in the apartment. If there is, make sure that everything is fine with the pressure. If it is not there or the pressure is weak, contact the management company.

• Washer shut-off valve closed or partially open. It happens that someone from the household accidentally turned the valve and cut off the water supply to the machine. Or he partially closed it in such a way that the pressure became too weak. Check the valve and make sure it is fully open.

• The inlet hose is kinked or kinked. Inspect the hose along its entire length: from the point of connection to the water supply to the body of the machine. If you find squeezed or twisted sections somewhere, the hose must be released or straightened.

• The filter mesh of the inlet valve is clogged and does not pass water well. Such a mesh is in the filling valve of each SMA. Its task is not to let garbage pass along with water. The more it becomes clogged, the less pressure water enters the machine. The filter must be removed, cleaned and reinstalled. • The control module has failed. In this case, disconnect the equipment from the mains for 10 minutes, and then re-insert the plug into the socket. If the error disappears after turning it on again, it means that there was a one-time electronics failure in the Samsung washing machine.

• Incorrect connection of the drain to the sewer. If a newly installed Samsung washing machine draws and drains water for a while, and then stops and gives a 4C error, the drain may not be properly connected to the sewer. Check the position of the drain hose. If it is completely below the water level in the tank, then the water leaves the washing machine by gravity. Raise the hose above this level to avoid self-draining or have your washing machine installed by a professional.

Faulty filling valve

The inlet valve (KEN) is responsible for supplying water to the washing machine. It consists of a membrane, an electromagnetic coil and a housing. When voltage is applied to the coil, the membrane opens and water enters the machine. Most often, the coil fails. Because of this, the membrane remains closed, the machine does not draw water and gives a 4C error.

Filler valve failure is the most common 4 C failure.

The pressure switch has failed

The task of the pressure switch (water level sensor) is to control the degree of filling of the tank and report when to start, and when to stop or resume the water supply. If the pressure switch tube is clogged, the pressure test chamber is clogged with dirt, or the sensor itself is stuck in the “full tank” position, then the Samsung washing machine does not draw water and gives a 4C error.

How to eliminate

Damaged wiring or contacts in the filling valve circuit

Over time, the wiring in the inlet valve circuit frays due to the vibrations of the washing machine during operation. In the private sector, it is damaged by pest rodents. As a result, the connection of the CEN with the control module is lost. Contacts move away, burn or oxidize, which also leads to an open in the valve circuit.
